PRISMA 2023
Prisma 2023 is dedicated to the relationship of mankind with nature and its title is ‘No Problemo’, an ironic expression lately seen in garments and most popular in the 90´s due to a movie where a cyborg appears from the future to save all mankind from itself.
Above all, we can affirm that ‘No Problemo’ is the expression that best reflects the human being’s attitude towards the environment, ignoring the signs that we are on the road to a catastrophe due to massive exploitation of the natural resources and the uses of polluting sources of energy. Basically, the world has been "always at our beck and call" to satisfy our needs.
In this context, we can remember the many artists who have taken on a more active role, warning of the dangers of a negligent attitude towards nature. This edition of PRISMA shows this by bringing together a group of creators who, by combining art and technology, are committed to celebrate the natural beauty of our planet. Each, in their own way, show how it is possible to think of a balance between the elements of this complex equation we call Life.
Back to the actual trend to use quotes on T-shirts, we suggest and old indigenous saying to remind that “we don´t inherit Earth form our ancestors, we borrow it to our children”. Or a simpler: "big problemo adelante”.
